Small footprint, big sound

DPA has no equal when it comes to the 4060,

4061, 4062 and 4063 professional series of

omnidirectional miniature condenser micro

-

phones. Originally designed for use with wire

-

less systems in theatre, television and close-

miking instrument applications the capsule is

smaller than a pencil eraser.

The three different microphone types are

acoustically identical, but differ in their sensi

-

tivity and self-noise to best suit the applica

-

tion. Three sensitivity levels are available:

The 4060 (20 mV/Pa); 4061 (6 mV/Pa); and

4062 (1 mV/Pa).

Two different protection grids are supplied

and by changing these grids you can acousti

-

cally modify the microphones according to

their placement on the body. One gives you a

3 dB boost in the 8-20 kHz range, while the

other gives you a 10 dB boost at 12 kHz.

The miniatures also have another interesting

design feature: The MicroDot connector sys

-

tem. A tiny but rugged thread-on plug allows

you to securely attach a wide variety of adap-

ters. This useful feature effectively multiplies

your mic inventory since you can use the same

microphone element on a variety of RF body

packs and even with XLR inputs. Because of

their small size, these miniature mics show

exceedingly true omnidirectionality and there

-

fore, do not need to be aimed directly at the

sound source to achieve quality sound. They

have a neutral character with great detail

and resolution and are very natural in their

sonic signature. On stage, the miniature mics

are completely undetectable, extremely rug

-

ged and reliable.

They are easy to put on and with the choice

of beige, brown, black or white cable you can

always hide them. Manufactured to exac-

ting standards the miniature mics are tailored

to handle heat, humidity and sweat as well as

wind and popping.

03 Low Sensitivity & DC

The 4063 is acoustically identical with the

4060, but the sensitivity is adjusted to 6

mV/Pa and the maximum DC output level

is lowered. Also, the built-in FET preamp is

designed for working with systems delive-

ring down to 3 V power supply.
